  After two last minute cancellations I had begun to wonder if my knee replacement operation would ever take place. I was pleased when I was called forward at very short notice on the 8th of June for the operation. It transpired that a theater had become available and my surgeon Mr Singh came in on his day off to take advantage of this. From the moment I arrived at the hospital to the moment i was discharged I really did receive FIVE STAR treatment. Mr Singh and his team were wonderful putting me at ease immediately. I had opted for an epidural but in the end it had to be a complete anesthesia. I awoke to find the operation had been a success and was transferred to to Ward 3A where the five star treatment continued. On the second day I was walking with crutches. On the third day I was assessed for mobility and stair climbing which I passed without trouble. On the fifth day I was home and feeling very pleased with the whole experience. After one week I was walking without any third leg and no pain at all in the knee just some discomfort in my thigh muscles. two weeks after the operation I was seen by Mr Singh who discussed the op with me and showed me the before and after X-Rays. Nothing, it seems, is too much trouble for this Surgeon. In conclusion, I have over the years had a few "Moments" with the hospital but on this occasion I have nothing but praise and would say to anyone having doubts about Knee replacements at the Pilgrim.
